Loos & Co., Inc. to Exhibit at BIOMEDevice 2014

The Loos & Company Medical Technologies Division will be exhibiting at the 2014 BIOMEDevice Exhibition in Boston, MA  from March 26th - 27th. If you're planning to attend, make sure to take a moment and stop by our booth, #636. Our display this year will be highlighting two exciting new products: Our single end round wire and our Elasticore® Medical Extrusion Core Wire. 

With the recent expansion of our wire drawing capacity, the Loos & Company Medical Technologies Division can now offer fine round wire as small .0015" in diameter, in all stainless and high nickel alloys. This material in turn can be used to make 1x7 medical strand as small as .0045" in diameter and 7x7 cables as small as .0135" in diameter. "We're very excited about our added capacity and the broadening of our product offerings," says Robert Davis, Sales and Marketing Manager for the Medical Technologies Division. "Loos & Company will now be able to offer more flexible products at lower overall diameters to aid in new product design."

With the introduction of Elasticore® Medical Extrusion Core Wire, Loos & Comapny Medical Technologies division now offers a single end wire to be used as a mandrel, or place holder, during the medical tubing extrusion process.  Elasticore® is a replacement for copper or clad copper product often used in this process. Copper materials are expensive, and lead times for custom sizes are often long. Minimum production runs and buy quantities are generally very high. 

Elasticore® is the better option. Our annealed stainless steel wire carries nearly identical physical properties to a copper wire with elongations well in excess of the 30% necessary in most extruded tubing applications, while our surface finish allows for adequate friction during the extrusion process. We would love to provide a sample of the material for your evaluation.
